Hello everyone,
Joanna here from havefaithincards.com
If you are interested in how I made this Donut Critter card, please read on:
-
Using my Cricut Design Space, I took the 'Cute Donuts Slim Line Panel' image, resized it to match my slimline die, set it to 'Print and Cut', and printed the image (no cutting). I printed the image twice, once on Crafters Companion Neenah Solar White card stock and once on printer paper - nothing fancy!
-
Once both were printed, I took Scrapbook.com Slimline Rounded Rectangles Nesting Dies to cut a slimline shape from the cardstock. Using scissors, I cut the image out from the printer paper to use as my mask. Once cut, I used Crafter Companions Stick and Spray very lightly to hold the mask in place over the image on the card stock.
-
Taking Distress Oxides 'Cracked Pistachio', Salvaged Patina' and 'Peacock Feathers', I randomly blended the colours over the card, trying to give all 3 colours equal amounts of space to shine.
-
Once the ink blending was complete, I took Tim Holtz 'Speckles' layering stencil and place it over the card, using low tack tape to hold the stencil in place. Using WOW's embossing pad and WOW's 'Sea Mist' embossing powder, I inked over the stencil and then heat embossed the powder on top. I actually really love how this turned out and can't wait to use both the stencil and powder again!
-
Next, I removed the image mask and coloured in the image using Ohuhu Brush Markers. I added some Stickles 'Twinkle' glitter over some areas of the image to add dimension and shine, and took my Gelly Roll White pen in 0.8mm to add some additional details
-
I added some enamel dots in co-ordinating colours and then, using double sided sticky tape, I adhered the top layer onto Papermill Directs 'Curacao Cocktail Double Sided Pearl Card 290gsm'. This card stock is a dream and has a really lovely golden shine when in the light!
